Urine Management: Evolution to Externals

Despite advances in external urine management, there is minimal evidence on appropriate patient selection and guidance after an indwelling urinary catheter is removed. As the acute care market continues to shift towards external urinary catheters, BD aims to equip clinicians with the information necessary to select the right product for their patients.

Objectives:
By the end of this program, the attendee will be able to:

• Discuss the evolution of external urinary catheters and current care modalities
• Understand current clinical challenges of urinary management in the acute care setting
• Identify factors to consider when selecting an external urinary catheter for a patient

Haylee Corvi joined BD in May of 2023 in the role of Clinical Manager, based in Portland, where she supports the North-West Region. She is an active member of the BD Acute Academy team, holds a seat on BD's Clinical Innovation Council, and was nominated for a UCC Peer-to-Peer award this year. Outside of work, Haylee loves to spend time out on the water paddle boarding with family and friends.
