I currently work as a Process Improvement Coordinator in the Clinical Quality Improvement Department for a large mid-western hospital system. I’ve been an RN for over 20 years, most of that time in Florida. I spent over 10 years at the bedside in a Cardio Vascular Step-Down unit and as manager for a Cardiac Tele unit. I’ve worked in Quality Improvement almost 10 years, focusing on CAUTI/CLABSI prevention, and Sepsis.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Univ. of South Florida, MSN from Univ. of Central Florida and PCCN (Adult Progressive Care Certification) from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
My passion for patient safety began when my mother received IV Heparin for several hours at 10 times the rate ordered.
